Best iPhone Repair Shop in Cairo: 6 Checks Before You Hand Over Your Phone

Pick the shop that tells you which part goes into your phone, puts its warranty in writing, lists the price for your model, gives you a repair time and asks you to back up before anything starts. Fixtech is Mezatech's Apple device repair service in Egypt: repairs at our branches in New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed and Sahel or at your door, with a lifetime warranty on replaced original screens. This guide comes from Fixtech, so our own terms appear as one example in each section. The six checks work for any shop in Cairo, ours included.

The short answer

Six checks cover most of what goes wrong with a phone repair. Ask for each one in writing before you pay, and keep the invoice.

  1. Part grade: original or replacement, stated on the invoice.
  2. Warranty: written, with the covered part, the period and what cancels it.
  3. Price: published for your model and repair.
  4. Time: confirmed before the phone goes on the bench.
  5. Data: a backup done before the repair starts.
  6. Approval: Apple-authorised or independent, and what that means for the warranty.

1. Original or replacement part? Get it in writing

Ask which grade of part goes into your phone, and have the answer printed on the invoice. A replacement part can look fine when you collect the phone and still behave differently a few months later, so the paperwork is what you keep.

You can check the part yourself afterwards. Open Settings, tap General, then About, and look for Parts and Service History (available from iOS 15.2). It reports on the display for iPhone 11 and newer, the battery for iPhone XS, XR and newer, and the camera for iPhone 12 and newer. An "Unknown Part" label means iOS could not confirm a genuine Apple part.

At Fixtech, an iPhone 13 screen is fitted with a original part, and you can ask for that grade to be written on your invoice.

2. Is the warranty written, and what does it cover?

A warranty only helps if it names the part, the period and what voids it. Before you pay, ask for it in writing and read three things: which component is covered, how long the cover lasts, and which actions end it, such as opening the device somewhere else after the repair.

Our own terms, shown here for comparison: the lifetime warranty covers only the replaced original screen component. The battery warranty period is set when the service is done, so ask for the figure to be written on your receipt. Data loss is not covered. Full terms are on our warranty terms page, and battery prices per model are in Arabic at iPhone battery replacement prices (Arabic).

Do not assume the lifetime screen warranty covers a part that is not the original grade on your invoice. Ask the grade first.

3. Can you see the price before you go?

A shop that publishes its price for each model and each repair is easier to trust, because you can compare before you travel. Ask for a written estimate before any disassembly, so nothing is added once the phone is open.

Our price list is published in Arabic at iPhone repair prices per model (Arabic). For example, an iPhone 13 screen replacement is EGP 11,330. Treat that as the figure for one model and one repair, and check the list for your own phone.

4. How long will the repair take?

Ask for the repair time up front, and ask whether the phone stays with them overnight. A time quoted for one repair does not apply to every repair on every model.

Our quoted time for an iPhone 13 screen replacement is 10 minutes. Use that figure as a benchmark, then ask for the time for your own model and your own fault before you hand the phone over.

5. Who is responsible for your data?

You are, and the safest step is a backup before any repair starts. Fixtech's warranty excludes data loss, so ask any other shop where it stands on this before you hand the phone over.

On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose iCloud, then iCloud Backup, and tap Back Up Now. On a computer, use Finder on a Mac or the Apple Devices app on Windows.

Then ask the technician why they need your passcode, if they ask for it, and whether the repair can be tested without it. A clear answer is a good sign. A vague one is worth stopping for.

6. Apple-authorised or independent?

Both kinds of shop operate in Egypt. The real difference is who sets the part grade and the warranty terms. Apple lists its authorised service providers in its own locator, which you can search at Apple's authorised service provider locator.

An independent repair is a lawful choice. Apple's warranty, however, does not cover damage caused by unauthorised service, so read Apple's terms before you decide.

Comparison table: ask any shop these questions

Warning signs worth a second look

A price you only hear after the phone is opened, a warranty that is spoken but never written, or a shop that will not name the part grade are all reasons to ask more questions before you say yes. None of these proves a shop is bad. They mean the answer is not complete yet, so ask again and get it in writing.

Repair or replace?

If the repair costs close to what the phone is worth, replacing it may make more financial sense. In that case, a refurbished iPhone from Black Mint is one option: refurbished iPhones at Black Mint.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I fix my iPhone in Cairo?

This guide does not rank shops. Use the six checks on any shop and choose the one that answers them in writing. Fixtech has branches in Fixtech New Cairo branch, Concord Plaza Mall (Arabic page) and Fixtech Sheikh Zayed branch, Arkan Plaza (Arabic page), plus a branch in Sahel, El Alamein.

How much is an iPhone screen replacement in Egypt?

It depends on the model and the part grade. At Fixtech, an iPhone 13 screen replacement is EGP 11,330 with a original part. The full list per model is in Arabic at iPhone repair prices per model (Arabic).

How long does an iPhone screen repair take in Egypt?

Ask for the time before you hand the phone over. At Fixtech, an iPhone 13 screen takes 10 minutes. Other models have their own times, so check the one that matches your phone.

Is an Apple-authorised repair better than an independent shop?

Neither is automatically better. An Apple-authorised route follows Apple's part and warranty rules. An independent shop sets its own. Ask both for the part grade, the written warranty and the price before you decide. Apple's policy also means unauthorised service can end Apple's cover for the damage it causes.

Where can I replace an iPhone battery in New Cairo?

Run the six checks first, then visit the New Cairo branch at Concord Plaza Mall, 90th Street South, in front of Gold's Gym. Battery prices per model are on the iPhone battery replacement prices (Arabic) page.
